Alexandra Varela - Speech Pathologist B Hlth Sc (Nutrition) M Sp Path MSPA CPSP

Alex is an early career speech pathologist with a distinguished record of clinical excellence having been awarded the Griffith University Master of Speech Pathology Academic Excellence Dux Award, the  Speech Pathology Australia Student Award and Scholarship for Clinical and Academic Achievements and the Griffith University School of Allied Health Sciences Academic Excellence Award during her Masters degree.  Alex was appointed to the coveted Queensland Health graduate position at Logan Hospital, Metro South Hospital and Health Services for the past year working with adults who had communication and swallowing difficulties. Alex is excited to return to her local community and family in Northern NSW and transition to the fun, varied and rewarding work of a paediatric caseload at Therapy Matters. Alex is a talented, diligent and engaging speech pathologist who is passionate about connecting with children and families. She has completed training in Key Word Sign and Sounds - Write. Alex works offsite at St James Primary School on Tuesdays and St Anthony's and other Tweed Coast schools on Wednesdays. She sees clients at our West Burleigh clinic on Thursdays and Fridays.
