Sophie Slavin - Speech Pathologist B Sp Path (Hon) MSPA CPSP

Sophie comes to Therapy Matters as a talented new graduate clinician with a distinguished academic record. We look forward to Sophie sharing with us the latest advances, techniques and knowledge in the field of speech pathology. Sophie is a passionate life-long learner and has already added to her university degree with additional professional development in key words sign, bilingualism and narrative skills.   Family-centred care is central to Sophie's practice as a speech pathologist. Her values have been greatly influenced by her Honours research involving interviews with mothers regarding early communication development and their experiences of working with healthcare professionals. These interviews have informed Sophie's approach as a clinician who works with families not for them and empowers clients and their families through quality, family-centred services. Sophie works at our West Burleigh clinic on Mondays, Tuesdays (PM) and Fridays. She provides school based services at Somerset College (Tuesday AM and Thursdays) and St Anthony's Primary School (Wednesdays).
