Emily Taylor comes to our clinic with over 5 years of experience across both Australia and New Zealand in a hospital setting, private school setting and more recently in a bilingual spoken English / New Zealand Sign Language preschool for deaf and hard of hearing children as well as other children with additional needs.

Emily is passionate about helping young children to get started with their talking. She loves partnering with parents to help them understand and connect with their child. Her clinical interests lie in early language development, school aged language, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and hearing impairments. She enjoys using Auslan in her work with children and families.

Emily works on Tuesdays on the Tweed Coast at St Ambrose Primary School and on Fridays at our West Burleigh Clinic.

“If you don’t know who this little monster is, his name is Sulley from the movie Monsters, Inc. I love this fuzzy guy because he’s really dynamic. You can’t tell from the photo but he talks, laughs and roars depending on how you shake, squeeze and tickle him. He can help break the ice for kids who are feeling shy and he loves a big strong hug for the kids who are hands on and active.

Kids work best when they are relaxed, having fun, and interested. Sulley’s unique mix of humour, scariness and cuteness helps inspire all of the above!”
