WELCOME TO BOOK CLUB MATTERS IN 2023!

“DIFFERENT, NOT LESS” by Chloe Hayden

Each month we will feature a different book that has been mindfully selected for our Therapy Matters families.

Our hope is that book club will support our Therapy Matters families to learn new ideas, discuss relevant topics and encourage a shared love of reading.

We are kicking off February with an empowering and humorous memoir “Different, not Less” – A neurodivergent’s guide to embracing your true self and finding your happily ever after. By Chloe Hayden.

Chloe Hayden is an award-winning actor and disability advocate, motivational speaker and social media influencer whose story of being ‘different, not less’ has attracted a worldwide following. She stars as Quinni in Heartbreak High, the Netflix remake of the iconic Australian series. Chloe also received the Marie Claire Woman of the Year – rising star Award 2022.

We have chosen this book to show our strong support for the “Neurodiversity” movement happening worldwide. Neurodiversity is a word used to explain the unique ways that people’s brains work. Neurodiversity is about accepting brain differences such as Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia as a normal part of human biology and not viewing these differences as deficits that need to be treated or fixed.

Listening to Neurodivergent voices is key to embracing and accepting difference so we felt that “Different, not less” was the perfect fit!
