Our Vision

A centre of clinical excellence in speech pathology that makes a difference for clients and staff to flourish in happy, connected and communicative lives.

Our Mission Statement

To provide a welcoming, family friendly clinic that supports dedicated staff to provide high quality communication, feeding and literacy therapy across the Gold Coast and Tweed Valley areas.

We are passionate about building long-term relationships with clients, families and colleagues at our clinic, in homes and in schools. We thrive on helping children and adolescents to achieve their ultimate potential.

Our Story

In 1995, Therapy Matters started as a Saturday morning clinic in a Medical Centre at Kingscliff, NSW. It was the first private speech pathology clinic to open in the Tweed region. Tania, our director was a passionate and idealistic speech pathologist who was determined to start the clinic on a strong foundation of clinical excellence – where families could get the high quality service that they needed, where they wanted, when they wanted and how they wanted it… tailored to their needs and designed to make a difference.

Word travelled fast, the clinic expanded and moved into increasingly bigger office premises in Tugun and then to its current location at West Burleigh. In 2020, we celebrated our 25th year with the opening of our second clinic in Murwillumbah, NSW. Over all these years, we have now had 35+ associate speech pathologists build a service of excellence for the communities of the Gold Coast and Northern NSW and we have had an impact on over 7000 children and their families.

Our clinic name, Therapy Matters, says it all. Therapy does Matter. While our clinic today, looks very different to the clinic of over 25 years ago, what hasn’t changed is our enduring commitment to a tailored, quality speech pathology service that makes a difference in the lives of others.

Thank you to all the families who’ve made the decision to place their trust in us to help their loved ones and contribute to our story.
