Lara

Speech Pathologist

B Sp Path

Lara has been an integral part of our Therapy Matters team for three years, having worked with us as a therapy assistant before transitioning to a position as a speech pathologist, upon the completion of her degree. Lara impressed our team with her flexible, child-centred approach and her unerring dedication to her work. Lara has had the unique advantage of anchoring her academic knowledge with the lived experience of supporting clients in their everyday settings at home, in schools and in child care centres. This has shaped her as a therapist dedicated to understanding the big picture of client’s lives.

Lara is a proud Gold Coast local who has a love for developing meaningful and engaging therapy sessions where the child feels safe and supported. She has a clinical interest in AAC, disability and motor speech disorders. She looks forward to bringing her experience and passion for working in early childhood settings to support children in everyday settings amongst their peers. Lara works tirelessly to ensure that gains in the therapy room make a difference in everyday life.

Lara became a qualified speech pathologist in 2024.

Lara has completed additional training in:

  • Key Word Sign

  • Brick Club Training

  • Sounds Write

Lara will work at our Murwillumbah clinic on Wednesdays, Silkwood School on Mondays (fortnightly) and our Burleigh clinic Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE TOY?

I chose the Magnetic Mythical Creatures because they offer endless possibilities for creativity and engagement in therapy. These toys allow me to target a variety of goals, from speech sounds and language skills to problem-solving and storytelling – the potential is limitless!

I love watching kids use their imagination to create unique mythical creatures and invent their own stories, making therapy not only effective but super fun!”
