These upcoming holidays, Therapy Matters clients are invited to join one or more of our exciting group programs designed to build communication, social, and independence skills in real-life settings.

Full Day Holiday Groups

  • Delivered by our therapy assistants, with speech pathology support as needed.
  • Time: 9:00am–4:00pm
  • Delivered from: Burleigh clinic
  • Optional care: 8:00–9:00am and 4:00–5:00pm

POP! Group Mini-Sessions

  • Delivered by our Speech Pathologists to harness the Power of Play (POP).
  • Time: 2.5 hours AM or PM
  • Delivered from: Murwillumbah and Burleigh clinics

Our NEW POP! mini‑sessions give your child the chance to Participate, Observe and Play in a relaxed, creative, and engaging environment. Each POP! experience invites children to step into a world of imagination and hands‑on exploration—whether they’re building, storytelling, or connecting with others.

What Children Gain from Our Holiday Groups?

Across our programs, children have opportunities to:

  • Practise communication in everyday and community settings
  • Build friendships and teamwork skills
  • Develop independence and self-advocacy
  • Develop problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Grow confidence in a supportive environment
  • Work towards individual therapy goals in a community setting
  • Connect with like-minded peers

These groups are designed to complement your child’s ongoing therapy.

Before Joining a Group

Because every child has unique strengths and goals, we require a brief discussion with your child’s therapist before confirming their place (particularly if they have not attended before, have complex needs or experienced challenges in group environments before).

Your child’s therapist will:

  • Identify appropriate group goals
  • Discuss whether the group is a good fit for your child’s age and support needs
  • Consider whether any additional supports may help (e.g. extra staffing or therapist support)
  • Determine if individual session goals need adjusting and time to prepare for group participation

This process ensures your child is set up for a positive and successful experience.

If you haven’t spoken with your therapist yet, simply tick the box on the Expression of Interest form indicating you would like to discuss group suitability. We will then coordinate this with your child’s therapist, who may need to schedule a quick call with you before confirming your child’s place.
